The Role of the Background Check Company:
In order to get an ABC#, a background check company (for example First Advantage) must be selected. Your business will then be credentialed before you can submit contacts for background checks. It usually takes a few days to complete depending on the accuracy of information provided to them.
Background checks are completed by the background check company, and then the process is managed via Aspen iRecord® software (Aspen do not complete background checks). Fees are charged for background checks in addition to the Aspen iRecord® subscription.

Here is an outline of requirements for First Advantage to credential your business. From time to time, other documents may be required. Where necessary, First Advantage will make you aware of these additional requirements.

- Virtual Site Inspection - Get Verified
- Two business documents (such as a phone bill, utility bill, insurance declarations page or business license) **only if First Advantage is unable to verify your business**
