Aspen iRecord® - How to link your ShieldID (ABC#)
This is a self-service option that can be completed by using a link within the Aspen iRecord® account. You will need the following specific details of the individual you will be transferring into your account:
- ShieldID (ABC#)
- Date of Birth
- Social Security Number (SSN)
- Authorization from the contact you are transferring
Please review and familiarize yourself with the following articles before Transferring a Background Check:
Login to your Aspen iRecord® account, look on the Dashboard Tab for the section called Quick Links and click on the link "Transfer Background Check":

Login to your Aspen iRecord® account, click on the Contacts Tab and then click "Transfer Background Check" within the Actions box on the left:
Please read over all the details on the "How it Works" tab and then click "Next":
Please review the "Implications" tab, read and accept the implications of transferring a background check:
Click the boxes to confirm that you received authorization from the contact to complete the background check transfer and that you and the contact have reviewed, are aware of and are willing to allow the transfer to be completed with full knowledge of all implications and click "Next":
Enter the specific required details needed to verify the contact whose background check you wish to transfer, the information must exactly match the details used for the background check completed on the contact being transferred:
Enter the ShieldID (ABC#):
Enter the Date of Birth:
Enter the SSN:
Note: Incomplete Background Checks & ShieldID (ABC#)
Once you have entered the ABC#, Date of Birth and SSN click "Verify Contact":
Note: Make sure you are careful when entering the data into the required fields, you are given 5 attempts per login to verify the individuals background check information:
When you have clicked "Verify Contact" and the contact is visible, you can select to transfer the background check into an existing contact within your account by clicking "Transfer To Existing Contact" OR you can transfer the background check and by clicking "Add New Contact" and the system will create a new contact within your Aspen iRecord® account:

Once you have made a selection, click on "Complete Transfer":
Once the background check has been successfully transferred, you will have the option to "Connect to Networks" or "Edit Contact"
The "Connect to Networks" will navigate you to the Networks Tab so that you can enter Connection/Verification codes, if you registered for your own Aspen iRecord® account and transferred your own background check results into your account:
The "Edit Contact" will navigate you to the Contacts Tab, so that you can edit the contact details for the individual whose background check you successfully transferred:
Once you have clicked on the individuals name, you will be able to edit the following fields:
- Contact Classification
- Address
- Work/Extension phone number
- Home phone number
- Fax
- Cell Phone number
- Confirm Email
- Contact permissions
